01The task

A spill was learned about 6 to 48 hours late: imagery arrived in batches, was reviewed by hand, and by the time anyone reacted the slick had moved. The cost of that delay isn't measured in reports.

02What we built

A pipeline for ingesting satellite imagery and UAV data, a slick-detection model, map output and analytics around the event. Most of the engineering isn't in the model but in getting data through and processed without manual steps.

03The result

Response delay reduced from 6–48 hours to online detection. This is the case where the outcome is a single number and visible without reporting.
